Sam & Sam at Scorrier House - A dream Cornish wedding
An Idyllic Wedding Day in Cornwall
I was lucky enough to be shooting alongside Lizzie Churchill, a wonderful photographer who I absolutely love working with. When she mentioned that she was shooting a wedding in Scorrier House in Cornwall and wanted me to be there, there was no question in my mind!
We had had some amazing weather and we had been checking the weather forecast for Cornwall and the day of the wedding, and it had promised thunderstorms. Which could have been cool for a few photos, but generally speaking, not ideal for a wedding day. When the day came around, sunshine!! And the days that followed were filled with 80mph winds. So to say they lucked out is an understatement.
Scorrier House is absolutely stunning, full of big windows, grand spaces, the natural light fills the rooms and the people in it with a romantic and flattering tone. The grand staircase, the wooden floors, all make for an incredible setting for the wedding ceremony.
Sam & Sam were a dream to photograph, it’s always easy when two people are so in love that it shines through in the images. I have enjoyed editing these shots SO much!
Scorrier House has a beautiful orangery adjacent to the building, which makes for some incredible atmospheric portraits, especially later on in the day when the light was soft!
It’s even got an outdoor pool, although it wasn’t quite warm enough for it in April even with the weather we had, but I’d love to dive in in the summer!
Sam & Sam had an incredible four string quartet play for their wedding ceremony (http://www.4tissimostringquartet.co.uk/). They were so atmospheric I got pretty emotional as she walked down the stairs to the rest of the wedding party to meet her husband to be!
Thanks for looking, here are some more of my favourite shots from the day!
